Luma's 5% is cheaper below $15 and costs more above it. Luma Plus drops the platform fee to 0% for US$59 a month billed annually, about C$80 a month depending on the exchange rate. That's a better deal than Bloom only once you're selling more than roughly 100 paid tickets every month, all year.
Three things Canadian organizers should know
- Tax collection is a Plus feature on Luma. If you're registered for GST/HST, you need to charge it on tickets. On Bloom, tax tools are included. See event ticket tax in Canada.
- Luma fees can't be passed on. Prices are all-in, so the 5% comes out of your revenue. On Bloom you choose, per event, whether buyers pay the $0.75.
- Pricing is in US dollars. Luma Plus is billed in USD, so your cost moves with the exchange rate. Bloom is priced in Canadian dollars.
